Description:
This small application can be used to change all stock items to the new VAT rate, apart from any zero rated stock items.

1. Click on fixvat.exe above and Save the file into your EPOS SALES directory (this is usually C:\SALES).
2. Run the Stock application stock.exe.
3. Click on Defaults then Software Settings.
4. Change the Default VAT rate. Click on Exit.
5. Run the fixvat.exe application by double clicking on it. This changes all VAT rates to the new VAT rate you have entered, except zero rated stock items.
6. Load your stock and check that VAT rates have been changed to the new VAT rate for the stock items.

Notes:

• This fix keeps the retail price the same.
• Changes can be made manually to each stock item.
• The new Default VAT rate you entered will now be used for new stock products entered and non stock products.

Description:
Full EPOS (Electronic point of sale) Stock Control and Computerised Till Software. This version contains all of the latest updates, including a new option to turn off serial numbers. This will increase the speed of the system if you do not use serial numbers.

Try out the EPOS system - 45 day trial:
If you do not already own the software, you can download and install the system to try it out. The product will expire 45 days after installation. The product activation key to continue using the software after this date can be purchased from Custom Software Systems.

SET UP INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIRST TIME USERS:

• Click on eposXP.zip to download the setup file.
• Once you have downloaded it, open this file and then run/open the eposXP.exe to begin the installation. Follow the setup instructions to install the software.
• Within your Windows Start menu, in your list of programs, you will find the software under the program group called EPOS. Here you will find programs called Backup, Computerised Till, Phone Book and Stock Control.

• You must run the Stock Control application first, before you run the Computerised Till. This is necessary in order to automatically set up the tables in the database. Once you have done this, you can then try the different applications.
• Note that all passwords have been set by default to "0" (the number zero).
• When you run the software a window will open asking for an activation key. Ignore this and press enter to continue. This window will open each time the software is loaded indicating how many days are left before an activation key is required.

Additional notes:
When setting up the system, you require to program your bar code scanner to imitate the F4 function key. This is the key that opens the bar code window and allows the scanner to read barcodes. It is not necessary however to use a barcode scanner for evaluation purposes.

You also need to install a code39 barcode font from ZBA Inc. Again this is not required to evaluate the software. Fonts are stored on your PC in the Windows | Fonts directory.

If you have any problems with running the installation, download and install ocx.zip (673KB). Install this separately.

Update an existing EPOS installation:
To update an existing installation of the EPOS system, perform the following steps:

1. Download the above file to your hard drive.
2. Make a backup of the directory which contains your EPOS software.
3. Run the file and choose the directory where the EPOS software is currently installed. Install over the existing files.
4. Run the Stock Control application (stock.exe). This will run a routine to update the tables in the database.
